Emlems Silicone moulds are food safe and made from a flexible soft silicone making them perfectly easy to use. This is the the highest standard of silicone on the market. Our silicone moulds can be used with sugarpaste, florist paste, modelling paste, cake mix, isomalt, candy, chocolate, soap, clay, plaster, ice, butter and so much more.

They are freezer safe and oven safe, they will withstand temperatures of up to 400 degrees in the oven.

Instructions for 3D moulds when using pourable materials such as chocolate, soap, isomalt etc.

1. Tape both halves of the mould together enusring there are no gaps for leakage.

2. Turn the mould upside down and fill with pourable material such as soap or chocolate or isomalt.

3. Leave to set

4. Once set remove tape

5. Then gently manipulate the silicone and remove finished product.

I advise to use white florist paste mixed with some white modelling paste in moulds when making cake toppers (this is the best paste to use with moulds as its flexible and dries quickly).

I also advise to use trex to grease your hands before kneading the paste and grease the inside of the mould lightly. Alternatively you can use corn flour. Press the paste into the mould ensuring you press down to fill in all areas/gaps. Smooth over with your thumb and push any excess into the centre so flat. Push the figure out and place on a tray to dry. You can manipulate the shape if it has distorted in any way when removing from the mould by using a sugar craft tool with a pointed end. With some moulds it is helpful to perhaps make the figure in pieces i.e. the feet/legs first then attach after with edible glue and cocktail sticks. This is because sometimes pulling the whole figure from the mould can cause too much distortion.

In the case of 3d moulds - once you have removed the paste from the mould stick the two halves together with edible glue or water, smooth the seams with a sugarcraft tool and leave to dry. You can insert cocktail sticks/skewers on larger figures to help them stand until dry.
